The trip report

Written by Carl

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the walk today! It was a gorgeous summer-like day, with enjoyable conversations and beautiful views in all directions. We did a little over 8 miles, or 17,600+ steps. That's how you get fit! (Well, apart from the fried food at Sully's after.) I hope to see everyone again soon.

About this event

Join GayOutdoors for a 6.8-mile walk along Carson Beach in South Boston. This is part of our Get Fit series to help shake off that winter weight. We will meet at Castle Island and head south towards Old Harbor Park. Although the path is 7 miles, there is no elevation gain, which makes the distance a little more doable. The start time is 10 a.m., and the walk should take us about two hours to complete.

After, we’ll grab a bite at the iconic Sullivan’s (or Sully’s, as the locals call it) at Castle Island, which recently received the James Beard America’s Classics award for the Northeast.  The address for the parking lot is 2080 William J. Day Boulevard, South Boston, MA 02127. I hope you can join us!

I don't want to jinx it, but Saturday's looking good so far. It will be around 76 and overcast, but the rain should hold off until late afternoon/early evening. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
