8.3 miles AT Hike - Virginia

This hike was not started due to heavy rains in the morning.

The hike wil begin at Sinking Creek (Va. 630) . The hike begins with a slight ascent then a descent into Sinking Creek Valley at Va. 42. The next .8 miles will be through pasture land (with cattle). At about 3.2 niles into the hike we will begin an ascent of 1500 ft. to Kelly Knob. After about 2.3 miles of relatively level trail we will reach an old fire tower and begin our 2.6 mile descent of about 1700 ft. to Jones Valley Creek and the end of our hike.

This wil be a clothing optional hike.

Driving time to the trailheads is about 1 hour and 7 minutes, We wiill dpart for the trailheads at 8:00 AM sharp from the Angel's Rest Hiker's Haven hostel. This is a one-way hike and requires an auto shuttle.
