Winter Solstice Potluck and Hike
Winter hike in the snow at the Barre quarry in Vermont
The trip report
Written by Helvetic Hiker
Many thanks to Fred (in Vermont) who led us through the quarry' snowy paths in Barre.
We walked about 3 to 3 1/2 miles depending on which app was used.
After our walk, we enjoyed a wonderful potluck with plenty of delicious pies.
We discussed various conversation topics including whether the sum a triangle's angles is truly 180. Please reach out if you want an explanation or what your thoughts are on the matter.
Merry Christmas to all and thank you to everyone who signed up.

About this event
Let's celebrate winter with a Potluck and a walk in the Barre quarries.
We’ll meet at my house at 11:00am. The plan would be to go on a 5-mile easy hike (weather permitting) and reconvene at my place for the potluck. Alternatively, we can eat first and walk after.
I’ll be making a pasta dish and salads.
Bad weather will not cancel (maybe the hike) but a minimum of 5 signups is desired.
The address will be communicated separately to the participants.
