About this event

On this moderate rating 8.7 mile loop hike, you’ll get a vigorous workout climbing up the rocky path to the top (be sure to wear hiking boots). You then get a reprieve as you make a gentle descent on a wide dirt road. This is an extremely popular trail with hikers and mountain bikers. Mountain bikers are only allowed on the dirt road section of this hike, so you’ll only have to watch for them there. Terrain: Rocky forest footpaths and abandoned roads follow forested mountain trails and mountain streams to a ridge-top boulder outcrop. http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.aspx?trailid=HGN175-004

Dress properly for the hike, shirt / tank-top, walking pants or shorts, and hiking shoes with appropriate socks are recommended. Wear a daypack to place your munchies, protein bar, water, extra shirt/shorts, camera, etc...

We start as a group and finish as a group. We wait at all trail junctions and summits. This trip isn't for you if you are faster than the group and don't want to hike with us, if you want to head off on your own, or if you are slower than the group and expect us to constantly wait for you. If you are unsure of your abilities, contact me and let us assess together!

I am amazed in the level of interest and responses. It seems that I am unable to edit and change the "max #", however, all are welcomed to join. I will send a message individually as time permits. Thanks guys and I am excited to meet each of you and have a fun/non-stressful hike.
