BBQ Benefit for AIDS & Rock River

Warm weather, clear-to-cloudy skies and 90 guys from near and far joined us for the 7th annual Frog Meadow BBQ/Garden Party/Fundraiser to benefit Aids Project of Southern VT & Rock River Preservation. Though only a few “officially” signed up for the event, there were approximately 15+ Goers in attendance, many familiar faces from last years’ event.

The weather held for the seventh year in a row and the event was a huge success, raising over $4,000. There was sufficient smoked pork, Italian sausages, Asian chicken thighs and roast pork loins for all to enjoy plus tons of appetizers, side dishes and desserts to make for a bounteous feast!

We are all grateful for the efforts of APSV to support the local gay, bi and questioning male community and the very important work of HIV education, prevention and services provided to those with HIV along with Rock River Preservation who coordinates safe access, environmental protection and community relations relative to the public’s recreational use of the lower Rock River.

You are invited to Frog Meadow Farm for their 7th Annual BBQ & Lawn Party to benefit Southern VT AIDS Organizations and Rock River Preservation. THE men’s event of the summer season!

Gay Outdoors is proud to be the Lead Community Sponsor of this year’s BBQ/Benefit and has generously donated admission for 2 to this year's GO Gathering in Waterville Valley, NH on August 22-24. We hope to see you there! This is a great opportunity to connect with other GO members, spread the word about GO while supporting a worthy community cause!

Come and enjoy the lovely and secluded natural environment of Frog Meadow Farm’s 63 private acres, including the beautiful gardens, hiking trails and swimming pond (pack a towel!). This is a mostly clothed event. Nudity will be allowed for skinny dipping and sunning by the pond but otherwise this is a clothed event. There will be croquet, bocci, and other lawn games to enjoy! In addition, raffle tickets will be available the day of the event for all kinds of goodies!

To maximize proceeds this event is a BBQ Dinner/Potluck! Several yummy BBQ main courses sufficient to feed everyone will be provided. Main courses including country smoked pork, Asian chicken thighs, and sweet & hot Italian sausages (a vegetarian option will be available). In addition there will be crackers & Grafton cheddar cheese, corn on the cob and watermelon.

We ask that you please bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert plate for 8 to 10, preferably home-made and not pre-packaged supermarket food.

Note that a vegetarian entrée option will be available.

Arrive any time after 3:00 with dinner served at 6:00. Since Frog Meadow does not have a license to serve alcohol this will be a BYOB event. Pleae bring a dish of your choice, preferably made by you and not prepared supermarket food. Bring enough to serve about eight to ten people.

A suggested $35 donation includes a valuable door prize drawing [many prizes will be given away], provides access to the grounds, and a yummy BBQ dinner. 100% of the proceeds benefit AIDS Project of Southern Vermont and Rock River Preservation. AIDS Project of Southern Vermont provides prevention outreach, HIV testing as well as direct services to those whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. Rock River Preservation whose mission is to preserve public access to recreation areas along the Rock River.

Note that the rain date for the event is Sunday July 20.
