The trip report
We had a great day canoeing 12 miles on the Delaware. Only 6 of the 12 showed up - myself, Charlie, Henry, Ed, and the two guys from Ithaca (Keith and Greg, I think?), but we all had a great time. Dinner at Rainbow Mountain afterwards.

About this event
Enjoy peaceful canoeing along the most pristine part of the Delware River within the Delware Water Gap. This is a beautiful wilderness-like stretch of river – we can explore Minisink Island in the middle. This trip is for those of you who prefer a quieter, wilderness experience than the thrill of whitewater rafting. We will canoe the 12 mile stretch from River Beach to Dingmans Ferry, which should take about 5 hours. We will meet at Dingman’s base (see directions at http://kittatinny.com/directions/), where we will be shuttled by Kittatinny Canoes to River Beach and canoe back to our cars. Rates are $45 per person (or slightly less if we have more people). We are meeting at 10 am because it will take time to get the canoes and be driven to our starting point. Bring ziplock bags or trash bags to keep things dry, water and lunch (no glass), old sneakers or sandals with straps, bathing suit, raingear, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, and change of clothes for later. Please first let me know if you would like to come. As long as we have a minimum number of people, I will then have you go directly to the web site of Kittatinny Canoes to make your reservations. We will plan to go out afterwards for dinner.
