Welch-Dickey Hike

 This is deservedly one of the most popular hikes in the White Mountains.  It is a bit less than 5 miles and though not very tall (Mt. Dickey is the tallest of the two peaks at 2734ft), most of the hike is above treeline, offering great views.  No wonder the AMC guide describes it as a hike that "offers great views for a modest effort."  However, don't expect an "easy" hike, as there are some steep sections, that while mercifully short, will give you a bit of a work out.
