The trip report

Great trip and group of guys.  Steep climb up to ridge top (800 feet or so), beautiful walk along ridge with views of Palmerton and Lehigh River below, and back and downhill along the AT.  Went out to dinner afterwards in Lehighton.

About this event

Join me on a beautiful 5 mile loop hike at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.  We walk steeply up hill to the ridge top of Kittatinny (also known as Blue Mountain), walk 1.5 miles along the ridge (to just above where the PA turnpike tunnel goes under the mountain), and then return via the Appalachian Trail.  Bring some water and snacks for the hike.  If groups wants, we can go out to lunch following the hike.

Is this trek, dog friendly? I have 2 dogs I'd like to bring. Are there any special considerations regarding this?

if dogs are good - I would like to bring my new foster Daphne (she is gay friendly) and is up for adoption as well.

I am happy with dogs. I don't see anything on their website (http://lgnc.org/) that gives policies on dogs. I tried calling them (610) 760-8889), but no answer. You can either come and hope there is no policy against dogs, or try calling them again to ask. Hope you both end up coming and are able to bring you dogs.

Hi everyone. Looking forward to this weekend. Fortunately, the worst of the rain will be on Friday, though we may get scattered thunderstorms on Saturday, especially in the morning, so please be prepared with raingear and good hiking shoes. Remember to also bring sunscreen, hat, water to drink, and snacks.
