The trip report

Super Day on Saturday! Guys, it all worked out well. To those of you that got there and joined in, Thanks for participating and hanging in there. We all stuck together, the storms held off, everyone found Buddies for dinner, lots of good conversation, laughs, really nice guys, good meeting new folks, nice seeing ol friends, etc. Hope you all had an enjoyable day. Thank you to all those with the very nice complements too. I treasure them, especially after all the planning, notice sending, and then having concerns the night before and morning about possibly having to cancel. Thanks again. Hope to see you all real soon, maybe at Charlie’s event at Ricketts Glen on Sept. 15th, or in August at the Pocono's hike/swim I am hoping to plan and fit in (look for details coming).

About this event

Tubing the waters of the Delaware offers a chance to relax floating past some of the most beautiful scenery in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Observe wildlife, and the surrounding cliffs and rock formations. No paddling is required, just relax and let the current pull you along. It is a great way for families, friends and groups to stay cool and enjoy the outdoor sun.
The Delaware River has been referred to as the “Eden of the East” with waters that are a refreshing 80 degrees all summer long. The river runs at an average speed of 1 1/2 mph with a depth of 1-5 feet.

We will meet at 10:30 AM at the picnic tables most near to the parking lot. From there we will all walk together up the hill to the ticket booth to pay individually. It costs $25/person. For discount coupons go to http://www.rivercountry.net/ , then click on the top tab that says "coupons" and print them out.  Each person is responsible to pay for their own tubing fee. Paying by cash is best. You may pay them by charge card however you will have to run back to your car to lock up your charge card.
Please stick together as a group.
(WE WANT TO ALL GET ON THE SAME BUS and LEAVE AT THE SAME TIME! Please wait for the next bus if we all can't get on the same bus) The bus will ride us up the road on the Pennsylvania side of the river. Make sure to get off at the 4hr stop, which is the Last stop.

I would suggest wearing your water clothes/bathing suit to River Country to save time so you don't have to change there. You may wear shorts and shirt in the water. You should wear some type of shoe in the water too. Flip flops aren't the best as they easily come off and float away. Old sneakers are the best. Also, they highly recommend checking your car keys at The River Supply Store (located on the premises). Keys are lost in the river almost daily even when they were "safely attached" to a bathing suit. Consider the possibility that any item brought on the river can be swept away! Locksmiths can be very expensive ($200 or more) (which has happened to my friends in the past). Please wear water proof sun screen as it is VERY sunny along the river with little shade.  There IS a hot dog stand along the river but it is VERY pricey and has long lines (not worth it! Have a big breakfast & save room for dinner after the 4 hr trip). I suggest you bring a change of clothing and keep them in your car. Don't forget a change of shoes too.
Here are a few other tips from River Country:
· Sign your liability form BEFORE you arrive for your activity, details on this can be found on  the River Country web page under the "tips" tab.
· For your Safety Keep your lifejacket on.
· Alcohol consumption is prohibited anywhere on BCRC's grounds or on your outing (strictly enforced)!!! We want you to have a safe trip and return!
· Be prepared and stay together (you can purchase ties to keep your group or family together at The River Supply Store located on the premises).
· Do not leave boats and equipment unattended
· Enjoy wildlife and wildflowers, but please leave them behind. NOTE: there is lots of poison ivy in the woods along the river. Best to stay on your tube and enjoy floating down the river.
· Please for the sake of our Beautiful River, absolutely no littering.
· For additional lodging, dining and other activities in our area, visit our links page, stuffed full of local Restaurants, lodging facilities, and Historic attractions of Bucks County. Also check out Bucks County Conference and Visitors Bureau
