Hike-nic (Hike-Picnic)@ Lewis Morris Prk

Sunny bright day, mostly easy path, flat for the  most part with a few steep hills now and then,....Everyone showed up on time, but one that we waited for up the trail. Had to back track as the trail was going on longer than expect and we all were to have lunch back at the park where we started. Lunch went well, everyone brought some side dish. I brought and cooked up some hot dogs and chicken on the park grill. Had a few drips of rain and little later as we were departing. Good timing.

We will meet at the picnic tables at parking lot near Sunrise Lake. From there we will hike for about 2 hrs on Patriots' Path. We will return to the picnic area to enjoy a pot luck lunch (at that point we will need atleast 1/2 to cook for you all ... so plan to chit chat/play, frezbee, relax, etc). This means each person who is staying for lunch should bring some side dish item (salad, fruit salad, potato salad, baked beans, desserts, etc.) to feed 6 to 8 people. ALSO, You bring your own water/soda/juice (no alcohol in the park!). I will treat you all to hot dogs & chicken, I will bring the paper products (cups/plates) and plastic utensils.

Should the weather be too chilly, we will hike longer and skip the picnic. Should it be raining that  morning, look on GO (gayoutdoors.org) to see if we Cancel.

I need RSVPs via GO by May 3rd so that I know how much hot dogs/chicken to buy!!!!!

To all those that sign up, I will send you a cell phone number to call in case you are running late (please be on time however!) or you are lost, whatnot.
