Water Tubing on the Del. River

Super day...great weather, not too sunny, not hot, no rain, just right. We all squeezed in to the bus with our big tubes which dropped us off to some cool, but just perfect temp waters. We floated day in a lazy way in our different colored tubes for about 4 hours. From there many of us then gathered at a local diner in New Hope, PA for a good meal and great conversation as we got to know each other better.

Was nice to meet some good folks from 5 different states (PA, NJ, CT, Delaware, and Maryland)

Ok folks.....Summer is slipping by fast. Too much going on at once. I finally sat down to plan out something for us all to do together in August.

 Come join us!

We will be tubing down the Delaware River on Sat., August 21st at 11AM! We will take the 4 hour tubing trip (which means by the time we pay, they bus us up the river and we float down it will be about 4 PM by the time we get back to our cars....so eat a big breakfast so you are not hungry on the way down)

Place is at....

River Country, Point Pleasant/Pipersville, PA (about 8 to 10 miles north of New Hope, PA off of River Rd/Rte.31...the road that heads north from New Hope along the Del. River).   You have to use " 2 Walters  Lane, Pipersville, PA 18947" to mapquest it or tack the place on a  GPS. If you go to their website they provide a great map and show if any roads have detours, etc.

 We will all gather together at 11AM SHARP! at the picnic tables, which are just near the changing rooms and rest rooms.

Get their early so we can get coordinated please. We don't want to hold everyone up. I will give my cell phone number to those that will attend and will need theirs as well so that we may keep in touch should anyone be running late...please do not be however, wink!

 You may want to wear some old sneakers too or water shoes just in case the water is low and the rocks are rough on your feet perhaps...just in case. You will want to wear sun screen, maybe even wear an old shirt if it is super sunny as at points on the river there isn't much shade, may want to bring a change of clothes and a towel to keep in your car, will need to bring some sealed container for your car key or pay to check it with the tubing company (I think they have some kind of arrangement there still).  If we get enough folks we get a group rate of $20 per person, but we need 20 folks to sign up! Just in case we do not get 20 attendees, go to their website (below) and print the coupon good for $2 off. The regular rate is $24 each minus your $2 coupon = $22 per person.  (Note they have a parking fee of $5, so get your friends together and car pool if you can)

 Afterwards you are welcome to join us as well as we will be heading over to Dilly's Stand (they have veggies burgers too as far as I remember) just down  the road from tubing place, on the same Pennsylvania side (across from the bridge in Stockton, NJ). OR if you are not into this, some folks may be heading in to the bars/restaurants in New Hope this year.

 I definitely need to hear from you by August 18th with a simple YES or NO, Please! (so I can get a final head count for the group rate)
