Join us for a hike up the iconic Ammonoosuc Ravine trail up to the summit of Mt Washington. We will ascend about 3800 ft to the summit. On route, we will stop at the Lake of the Clouds Hut. After a relaxing lunch on Mt. Washington, we will descend along the Cog Railway path. We will be hiking at a moderate pace and take breaks to enjoy the amazing views. The hike is about 7 miles long & will take about 7 hours. Hikers are welcome to stay at my house near Franconia on Saturday and/or Sunday if desired. Apres-hike summer barbecue/potluck/bonfire on Saturday evening. Please let me know if you are staying over and/or attending the potluck.

Sorry Bob, the weather tomorrow and Friday does not look great, especially a possible T storm on Sat morning. As much as I want to get in some substantial hikes, I don't want to risk all the bouldering if it's going to be wet. So I'm going to pull out, sorry I won't see you all.

Hi All: We decided to switch the hike to Sunday morning instead due to the bad weather & heavy rain on Friday night & early Sat morning. Saturday night will be clear & Sunday will be mostly sunny. ?? We will still do the potluck on Sat evening. I will switch the date on the GO website to Sunday. Please let me know if you are coming to the potluck. Hope you can make it to this hike - Jason's first ascent of Mt Washington!

Reminder: Remember to meet at the Ammonoosuc Trailhead/National Forest Service Parking Lot (not the Cog Railway Hiker Parking). Water crossings might have high/moderate water levels but should be easy to cross with poles. Maybe bring an extra pair of socks. Remember to check Higher Summits Forecast in the morning to make sure you have adequate clothing. Weather is looking great for our hike!
