This hike will take between 2 and 2-1/2 hours. There are a few short hills to walk up with total elevation gain of less than 300 feet. We start on the beautiful beach, make our way through the dunes, walk through a lovely maritime forest, and return by way of the Grand Allée. There will be sand in shoes by the end of it. Dogs are not allowed on most of the hike although we will probably see some romping on the beach in the unleased area. I mean dogs romping. 

There is a ten dollar per adult charge to enter the Crane Estate. Free admittance if you are a Trustees of Reservations member. We will meet near the parking lot up by the front entrance of the Great Building. After entering through the main gate of Castle Hill, follow the "Event Parking" signs up the winding road to the top. 

From Rt. 128 North Exit 45B, take Rt. 1A North for 8 mi. to Ipswich. Turn right onto Rt. 133 East and follow for 1.5 mi. Turn left onto Northgate Rd. and follow for 0.5 mi. Turn right onto Argilla Rd. and follow for 2.3 mi. to entrance on left. We will meet at 10:30AM near the parking lot by the front of the Great Building.
