Join me in hiking Pack Monadnock mountain in Peterborough, NH. We’ll hike or snowshoe from the Miller State Park parking lot to the Pack summit, and perhaps a mile or so beyond. We'll hike for about 4-1/2 hours, including a break for lunch or snacks along the way. The exact distance we'll hike will be determined by trail conditions. At most the full hike would be about 5 to 5-1/2 miles. If conditions are such that we need snowshoes, we won't hike as far. Conditions could be anything from bare ground to accumulated snow, so plan accordingly. Ideally bring microspikes and snowshoes, and a way to fasten your snowshoes to your pack if they're only needed for some portion of the hike. Also wear layered clothing and bring snacks and/or a lunch, and plenty of water.

Please note: Pack Monadnock is NOT the same mountain as Mt. Monadnock. Do not navigate to the latter!

We'll meet in the parking area for Miller State Park, just off Rt. 101 in Peterborough, NH. Coming from downtown Peterborough, the entrance is about 4 miles east on your left. Coming from the east, the entrance is on your right, about 16 mi. west of the junction of NH rts. 101 and 101A. I drive a navy blue Prius with MA license plates. (Note: There may be a minimal parking fee.)
